I highly doubt they tested the drives to be able to read dual layer discs so as a result even if it possible a significant amount will fail to read just like happened with the Wii. I don't know if it can do an Xbox360 and read from two sources (ala GTAV, reads off disc and hard drive simultaneously this had the problem of if you had a digital copy both ended up on the hard drive making it slower.unless you got a USB memory stiuck then you could overcome the problem)Īlthough that said it was only late in the Xbox360 life were larger patches and mandatory installs were allowed. I think both the disc drive and external drives have a bottleneck of about USB2.0 speeds plus for the disc there is seeking and kind of the same for a non-SSD external (which is is why external can be slightly slower than internal in tests where small bits of data are repeated loaded like MH). I think it is a combination of slow RAM and slow transfer speeds for the access medium. Part of me hopes they make that free DLC if the same happens here and they can't fit it otherwise (after the problems with the Wii I don't think dual layer Wii U discs will happen.assuming the drive can even read them).īut that is the problem. The international versions had to be dual layer for the dual audio tracks to fit.
XENOBLADE CHRONICLES X DIVISION SUPPORT FULL
Xenosaga had lots of FMVs while Xenoblade was all in-engine for cutscenes (bar bits of the ending) so that was not an option and when it had to switch between lots of locations in a cutscene most of them were static 2d backgrounds (which is really obvious when playing on emulator as they're such low resolution).Īlso Xenoblade in Japan was a practically full single layer DVD so there is precedent for using all the space they can.

There is also the matter of what takes up the space. It sounds really ambiguous and there is argument between weather it means the game will have an optional install/HDD cache for faster loading (think GTAV last gen and many others) or if the game will consume more RAM than usual (disabling OS features) ala MH and SSB on 3DS.

I was just curious if I was the only one who felt that some of the problems with me not enjoying the game was just me or actually relevant. There is discussion of this in the website thread. Capcom has done Megaman 2 and Mega man X 2, so Xenoblade Chronicles X 2 Thank you all for the comments, at the time of writing this post, I had wondered if my words fell on deaf ears.
